Sri Honnadevi Government First Grade College, Dandinashivara, Turuvekere Taluk, Tumkur District was established in 2007 by the Government of Karnataka to address the needs of the students in Higher Education in rural areas. The College has been recognized by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) of the UGC Act of 1956. The College, affiliated to Tumkur University is centrally located in the heart of the hobli head quarter Dandinashivara behind Sri Honnadevi Temple. It is very near to the bus stop and Ammasandra railway station.
The College has a beautiful eco-friendly infrastructure with good ventilation, with excellent library facility and computer lab. The special feature of this College is about 85% of students are Girls. They are coming from rural village of Turuvekere Taluk. The College campus is in 2 Acres with 0.5 Acres of built area. It has 11 Classrooms, Edusat cum Seminar Hall, Computer Lab, Library cum reading room, Indoor Tennis Court, College also provides RO Drinking water, Ladies waiting room, facilitates handicap students by providing separate toilets & ramps.
It has dedicated and committed faculty members and administrative staff. The College is blessed with good NSS, Scouts & Guides, Rover & Rangers, Youth Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club, and host of co-curricular activities. We also have Placement Cell, which educates the students to know about the recruitment process and takes them for the campus selection & helps the students to choose right job.
